Fifth CIPR National Essay Competition – Results

Dear All, 

The Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, NUALS is pleased to announce the results of the 5th CIPR National Essay Writing Competition. The winner of the competition is Arpit Gupta and Divyanshi Bansal from HNLU, Raipur for their essay "Ambush Marketing Landscape In India: An Innovative Practice Or Parasitic Marketing", and second prize goes to Rahul Naresh and Akshita Goyal from Symbiosis Law School, Pune for their essay "Protections of Celebrations and Fan Chants in Sports". The Third Prize goes to Abhiraj Singh Shekhawat from GNLU, Gandhinagar for his essay "A Sports Explosion:Trademark in Sports". Certificates of Merit will be awarded to Jesse Jacob from NUALS, Amrita Ghosh from NUJS and Sidheswar Sahoo from NLU-O who have been jointly placed Fourth. 


The first, second and third rank holders will receive a cash prize and a certificate of merit.

Call for Papers – The NUALS Intellectual Property Law Review Volume II

The NUALS Intellectual Property Law Review (ISSN 2582-4244) is a peer-reviewed, double blind and open access journal, operating under the aegis of the Centre for Intellectual Property Rights (CIPR), NUALS. With the objective of the journal being the exposition of contemporary developments in intellectual property law, we encourage authors to explore the latest developments in the field, while also giving readers an insight into overlooked areas of the law.

We invite contributions from academicians, practitioners of the legal profession, researchers, post-graduates and under-graduate students of law. Contributions may be in the form of articles, essays, notes, commentaries and reviews. Submissions will be put through an exhaustive review process and published on the official website of the University (nuals.ac.in) as well as the CIPR website (ciprnuals.in)

Categories of Submissions:

  • Articles: 5000- 7000 words
  • Essays: 3000-5000 words
  • Notes, Comments and Reviews: 1000- 3000 words

Word count is exclusive of footnotes. Longer submissions will be considered at the discretion of the editorial board.

 

Guidelines for Submission:

  1. All submissions are to be made in the electronic form, and must be sent to iplawreview@gmail.com. Submissions must be received on or before 30th December, 2019.
  2. All submissions must include an abstract not exceeding 300 words.
  3. Submissions must be accompanied by a brief note including the following information:
  • Name
  • Postal Address
  • Name of Institution
  • Course of Study (if applicable)
  • Academic Year
  1. In submission of work, the author undertakes that the work is original and has not been submitted, accepted or published elsewhere.
  2. All submissions will be subject to a plagiarism check at the first stage of evaluation. If work is found to be unoriginal or plagiarised, it will be rejected at the first instance.
  3. Co-authorship is permitted up to a maximum of 3 co-authors.
  4. Authors will be intimated of receipt of submission within one week from date of submission.

Formatting Guidelines:

  1. The submission must be made in .docx/ .doc (word document) format. PDFs of submissions will not be accepted.
  2. The body of the manuscript must be according to the following specifications:
  • Times New Roman font
  • Font Size 12
  • Line spacing 1.5
  1. Submissions must follow the Bluebook (20th edition) style of citation. Footnotes must be in Times New Roman, font size 10 with single line spacing.

On acceptance of submission, authors will be issued a certificate of publication.

5th CIPR National Essay Writing Competition

The deadline for submission is extended to 18/08/2019, 6:00 P.M.

The Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, National University of Advanced Legal Studies is organizing the 5th CIPR National Level Essay Competition. The Centre seeks essays on the theme: “Intellectual Property Rights and Sports” with the following sub-themes:

  • Patents and the role of Technology in Sports
  • Copyright, broadcasting rights and Sports
  • Brand building in the sports world (Trademarks and Sports)

Essays need not be limited to the above sub-themes.

Eligibility

The competition is open to LL.B. and LLM students studying in any of the recognized Law

Schools/ Colleges/ Departments of the Universities.

Submission Guidelines

  • Submissions are to be made in electronic form only and are to be sent to cipr@nuals.ac.in
  • The essay should be in English, not exceeding 3000 words (excluding footnotes)
  • Only one essay per participant will be permitted. Multiple submissions will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • The essay should be accompanied by an abstract not exceeding 300 words.
  • Co-authorship is permitted, subjected to a limit of maximum two authors per submission.
  • The cover page should include Name, Address, email id, Contact number and the name of the College/University along with address and class of the Participant. In case of co-authorship, the covering letter should include details of both the authors
  • No part of the submission should have been published earlier nor should it be under consideration for publication or a contest elsewhere.
  • Any form of plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.
  • The essay should not contain names or any other marks which reveal the identity of the author.
  • Duly filled Declaration Form (available here) must accompany the essay.
  • In all matters related to the Essay Competition, the decision of the Panel and CIPR shall be final and conclusive.

Three Day National Workshop on Health, Medical Ethics and Intellectual Property Rights

The Centre for Health Law and Policy and the Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, NUALS is pleased to invite you for our Three-Day National Workshop on Health, Medical Ethics and Intellectual Property Rights. The workshop is scheduled to run from 13th of March to 15th of March in The National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Cochin and is intended for Medical professionals, Academicians, Research Scholars and Students. Results of the 4th CIPR National Essay Writing Competition

Dear All,

The Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, NUALS is pleased to announce the results of the 4th CIPR National Essay Writing Competition, 2018. The winner of the competition is Mr. Aditya Gupta and Ms. Ananya Jha, from NUSRL, Ranchi. The second place goes to Ms. Neha Shivhare from NALSAR, Hyderabad, and the third place to Ms.Shramana Dwibedi from SLS, Hyderabad. Fourth Place goes to Ms. Meenal Garg from ULS, Chandigarh and Fifth place goes to Ms. Felina Eugina Das from Christ University, Bangalore.

The first, second and third rank holders will receive a cash prize and a certificate of merit.
